Here's a great Beef Stew as requested by Adam
1 lb stew meat
1 small onion
1 tablespoon flour
2 large potatoes
4 large carrots
2 beef bouillon cubes + 3 cups of water
or 3 cups beef broth from a carton
Salt & pepper to taste
Cut meat into smaller bite size portions and cut away any fat.
Place flour, salt and pepper in a small dish and dip meat to coat.
Put a small amount of oil in a saucepan and brown the meat.
After it is nicely browned add the 3 cups of beef broth or
3 cups of water and the 2 beef bouillon cubes
and let simmer on low for approximately 2 hours
add the vegetables cut fairly small and cook another hour.
Thicken Stew juices with cornstarch or flour mixed with water.
Gravy Tip
Note: mix cornstarch or flour or any powdered gravy mix it in a bit of cold water before you add it into the Stew
If you want extra good gravy use BISTRO beef gravy mix instead of the cornstarch or flour.
You can find Bistro at the grocery store it's good in all beef gravies and they even have some now for turkey or chicken gravy
Make it a Crock Pot meal!
If you are the owner of a crock pot and will be away all day
these ingredients can be cooked while you are out.
Place the potatoes and carrots in the crock pot first
and then add the meat on top.
A nice hot meal and stew reheats well.
Feeds one hungry man or a sensible couple
and of course it's Mmmm Good
